Prism & Peel is an editorial publication, not a store, professional advisory service, or recipe-certification body. No purchase, account, or submission is required to browse.

01 · Agreement

Accepting the terms

These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Prism & Peel Editorial Studio concerning your access to this website. By browsing the site or using its interactive features, you agree to these terms and the documents referenced here, including our Privacy and Cookie Notice and Editorial Disclaimer.

If you do not agree, please discontinue use. You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms or use the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts them.

We may update the terms as the publication evolves. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively, not retroactively.

02 · Editorial purpose

Using the magazine

The site provides confectionery inspiration, flavor education, cultural commentary, and general information about artisanal candy. Content is offered for personal, noncommercial reading and exploration.

The Flavor Profile Matcher offers creative pairing ideas based on broad taste moods. It is not a diagnostic tool, preference assessment, or personalized commercial recommendation. The Temperature → Texture guide explains classic cooked-sugar stages in general terms and does not provide a complete recipe.

No product listings, prices, inventory statements, subscriptions, or checkout services are offered. A reference to a candy style or ingredient is not an offer to sell anything.

03 · Creative work

Content & artwork

The Prism & Peel name, editorial text, visual identity, custom illustrations, page design, and original site code are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. All rights are reserved except for the limited permission stated here.

You may read the site, use its controls, print a reasonable portion for personal reference, and share brief quotations with clear attribution to Prism & Peel. You may not republish full articles, redistribute the illustration set, sell copies, remove attribution, imply our endorsement, or present our work as your own.

Automated harvesting, bulk reproduction, model-training extraction, and republication of site content require prior written permission where applicable law does not otherwise permit the activity. For an editorial reuse request, contact the studio.

04 · Keep it sweet

Acceptable use

You agree not to interfere with the site or use it in a way that violates law or the rights of others. In particular, do not:

  • attempt unauthorized access to hosting systems or nonpublic files;
  • introduce malicious code, automate abusive requests, or disrupt availability;
  • misrepresent an affiliation with the studio or impersonate its editors;
  • use the site or its branding for deceptive, unlawful, or harmful activity;
  • bypass technical restrictions or remove rights notices; or
  • send unlawful, threatening, or deliberately misleading material through editorial email links.

Ordinary browser functions, accessibility tools, security-conscious use, and links to public pages are welcome.

05 · Hot sugar is serious

Kitchen activities

Any kitchen activity inspired by the magazine is undertaken at your own discretion and risk. Cooked sugar and confectionery equipment can cause burns or other injury. Use tested recipes, accurate tools, appropriate protective practices, and careful adult supervision.

Ingredient formulas, equipment, humidity, altitude, and thermometer calibration can affect results. Our general temperature ranges and texture descriptions do not guarantee an outcome. Never taste cooked sugar to check its temperature, and keep children and pets away from hot-sugar work areas.

Flavor suggestions are creative ideas, not statements about allergy safety, nutrition, dietary suitability, or health. Check ingredient information and use your own judgment.

06 · Site availability

Changes, availability & editorial material

We may revise, add, remove, or reorganize articles, illustrations, and features without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every page will remain online indefinitely.

Editorial submissions do not create a confidentiality obligation unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing. Do not send trade secrets or material you are not authorized to share. A pitch does not guarantee coverage, payment, publication, or a response.

Corrections and reader feedback may be used to improve editorial accuracy. We will not claim ownership of your original message, but you permit us to retain and refer to it for editorial and recordkeeping purposes.

07 · Legal essentials

Disclaimers & responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted operation.

To the extent permitted by law, Prism & Peel Editorial Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the site, reliance on general editorial content, or kitchen activities. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

These terms are governed by applicable laws of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence provide otherwise. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
